We might have to diverge on this, because the good guys beating the loser bumblefucks isn't that great. Its a shame that Hux was turned into such a figure of ridicule, because at that moment he had some worth as a villain and a character. I think the most chilling, and possibly most effective scene in the Force Awakens is when Starkiller Base is activated, and Hux makes a deranged speech about the inevitable triumph of the First Order/Third Reich, to serried ranks of First Order troops, under the glare of the superweapon. The First Order was at its most threatening and dangerous when it was embracing the thematic heritage of the Galactic Empire, and the Nazi's. Perhaps better phrased, from a dramatic perspective. From an entertainment perspective, loser bumblefuck villains are shit. The First Order might be better from the perspective of not making "heels get the cheers", but they were fucking appalling as challenging bad guys.

Well, I definitely don't want to get into an argument about the First Order being a good villain, because a sequel debate is an endless hellhole, but I guess I have to touch on it.
